Ambassador Grace wins our University of Oxford 'New Apprentice' Award

The University of Oxford hold an annual Apprenticeship Awards to congratulate Apprentices who have completed their Apprenticeships and recognise Apprentices and their managers and mentors for outstanding achievement and commitment to the scheme. This year, for the first time, the Awards were held at the iconic Sheldonian Theatre on Friday 9th December.

Oxfordshire Apprenticeships were proud sponsors of the ‘New Apprentice Award’, given to recognise an Apprentice who has demonstrated significant achievement and made a real difference to their workplace in a short space of time.

We were delighted that our award was won by Grace Parsons, a Human Resources Apprentice with IT Services, who is also an Apprenticeship Ambassador with Oxfordshire Apprenticeships. She joined the scheme in October and has already been back to her former school – Henry Box School in Witney – to share her experience of being an Apprentice with students, a very brave thing to do! She’s also advised students at Faringdon Community College careers fair and given a talk for young people and parents at an Apprenticeship careers evening in Kidlington.

We are extremely proud that our award was won by someone who’s not only achieving great things as they progress through their Apprenticeship, but who is committed to helping other young people see the benefits of Apprenticeships to help them make an informed career choice.

Grace is pictured receiving her Award from Director of HR Julian Duxfield and also with her proud parents at the Awards evening.
