Award success for Clarkson Evans Electrical Apprentice Alex Pollard

Clarkson Evans Electrical Apprentice Alex Pollard has been named Apprentice of the Year in the Cotswold Life Family Business Awards 2016. Alex stood out from the crowd the moment he applied to Clarkson Evans after writing a passionate letter to the then Managing Director Steve Evans, outlining his commitment and drive to become an Apprentice Electrician.

Three years on, the former Marlborough School student’s electrical skills have gone from strength to strength and he has built up a reputation for being an incredibly fast, but accurate worker. Alex shows exceptional commitment to working long hours and is never without a smile on his face, even in sub-zero conditions!

Alex’s enthusiasm goes well beyond the working hours. He is a fantastic ambassador for Clarkson Evans and regularly offers to help raise awareness of the company's Apprenticeship programme. He has featured in a National Careers Service video extolling the virtues of Apprenticeship training and has helped national charity Business in the Community promote Apprenticeship training in Oxfordshire in this Apprentice Stories video:

Apprentices are critical to the success of electrical contractor Clarkson Evans and the company takes on around 80 would-be electricians each year across England & Wales.

“Alex is a model Apprentice and his commitment and determination to succeed epitomises everything Clarkson Evans has come to stand for.” said Nathan Evans, who took over from his father Steve as Managing Director of the £45m turnover company in May this year. “He qualified as an electrician at the start of the summer and has been identified as someone with real talent who is set for great things within the company.” he said.

“We are delighted that his achievements have been recognised publicly in the Cotswold Life awards.” added Nathan.
