The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2018 are open for entries!

We are delighted to announce that the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2018 are now open for entries and nominations! Everything you need to know is on our Awards page, including entry forms and eligibility criteria.

The second Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards will recognise the best talent in the county with a special presentation evening on Thursday 1st March 2018 at Blenheim Palace, in the run up to National Apprenticeship Week.

The purpose of the Awards is to celebrate the achievements of the county’s Apprentices and recognise the huge contribution they make to our local economy across a wide number of organisations and sectors.

There are four ‘Apprentice of the Year’ categories – Intermediate, Advanced, Higher and Special Recognition, for an Apprentice who has overcome significant challenges or barriers to learning or work, with an overall Oxfordshire Apprentice of the Year to be chosen from the winners. A special award will also be given to one of our Apprenticeship Ambassadors in recognition of exceptional commitment to our scheme.

In addition to focusing on Apprentices themselves, the Awards also recognise schools, who play a crucial role in inspiring people to consider and start an Apprenticeship, as well as training providers, who support and guide them through the progamme.

Two new employer categories have also been introduced for 2018 – small employer (<50 employees) and large employer (50+ employees) to celebrate and champion local employers who offer exceptional Apprenticeship schemes.

Please encourage any star Apprentices you know to enter, or nominate them – we know they can sometimes be a little shy about coming forward!

If you’re an Apprenticeship employer, school or training provider, don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate your successes and shout about what you do! Give yourself a pat on the back and set a great example of good practice to others.

We’re delighted to have the support of Witney-based Liga College, one of the UK's leading Apprenticeship and skills providers, as our headline sponsor. Business Development Manager Christine Graham wants to encourage people to enter or nominate to showcase the fantastic Apprenticeship schemes available in Oxfordshire. She says: “The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards will enable all of those involved in Apprenticeship training in our county to show the wide diversity of Apprenticeships available to anyone wanting to progress their education. Apprenticeships are the opportunity to bring in fresh talent to a business, no matter what industry and these Awards are the perfect way to celebrate these and those who have excelled during their Apprenticeship.”

The closing date for entries is midnight on Friday 1st December 2017, but don’t wait til then – get your entry in asap! It’s really easy to do, just download a form from www.oxfordshireapprenticeships.co.uk/awards. You’ll find all the details about the categories, sponsors and the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2017 here too.
