Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2019 to be held on 4th April at Jurys Inn Oxford
We are delighted to annouce that the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2019 will take place on Thursday 4th April at Jurys Inn Oxford.
Hotel Manager Anna McInnes explains why Apprenticeships matter at Jurys Inn Oxford and why they are keen to support the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2019...
Why are you supporting the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards?
The youth of today are the future of tomorrow and their development is key. At Jurys Inn we pride ourselves on the training and development we offer to our employees and we offer Apprenticeships on the job but also alongside management development programs to assist with this. We are supporting and hosting the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards because it brings together the development that we believe in but it is local and any support we can give to our community we want to be involved in.
Tell us about your organisation’s experience of Apprenticeships
We work with Lifetime Training to offer Apprenticeships for our “Insights” development program which aims to develop the team member/supervisor into a Duty Manager, as well as Chef, M&E Assistant, Reception and Food & Beverage Apprenticeships that they complete alongside their daily role. Over the last 2 years we have had 3 successful Apprentice completions – Food & Beverage, Chef and 1 through the Insights program. All have been successful with all moving on to a full time role or promotion on completion.
What would you say to anyone thinking about entering or nominating?
Why not? Be proud of what you are doing within your organisation or what you have achieved on your own.
We’re proud to be based in such a wonderful city and to be part of the wider community. The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards is a great local event, which aims to deliver the same values as Jurys Inn and so we are delighted to host the event. We are looking forward to a great night and to recognise some great people in our community.
