Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2018

The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards are now open for entries! The categories are listed below along with entry and nomination forms for you to download. The Awards will be held at Blenheim Palace in the evening of Thursday 1st March 2018. 

Intermediate Apprentice of the Year - sponsored by Barclays

Open to Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 12 months of their current Level 2 Apprenticeship, or have completed a full Level 2 Apprenticeship within the 12 month period leading up to and including 1st December 2017. 

Advanced Apprentice of the Year – sponsored by SST Technology

Open to Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 12 months of their current Level 3 Apprenticeship, or have completed a full Level 3 Apprenticeship within the 12 month period leading up to and including 1st December 2017.

Higher Apprentice of the Year - sponsored by Nielsen

Open to Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 12 months of their current Higher Apprenticeship, or have completed a full Higher Apprenticeship within the 12 month period leading up to and including 1st December 2017.

Special Recognition Award – sponsored by The Apprenticeship & Training Company

This Award is for an Apprentice who has achieved in overcoming significant challenges or barriers to learning or work.  

Training Provider Award - sponsored by NatWest

Open to registered training providers delivering Skills Funding Agency provision either as a prime contractor or as an approved subcontractor who are based in, or delivering training in Oxfordshire.

School Award – sponsored by Clarkson Evans

Open to any secondary school based in Oxfordshire including Academies, Free Schools (including UTC and Studio schools), Faith Schools and Independent/Private Schools.

Small Apprenticeship Employer Award - sponsored by High Spec Composites

Open to organisations with less than 50 employees. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire and employ Apprentices that work in Oxfordshire.

Large Apprenticeship Employer Award - sponsored by Darke & Taylor

Open to organisations with 50 or more employees. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire and employ Apprentices that work in Oxfordshire.

Oxfordshire Apprentice of the Year Award – sponsored by headline sponsors Liga College

To be chosen from the winners of the other Apprentice Award categories. 

Apprenticeship Ambassador Award – to be chosen by OxLEP

To be given to one of Oxfordshire Apprenticeships’ Ambassadors in recognition of outstanding commitment and achievement.

Q&A

Am I eligible to enter?

The Apprentice Awards are open to Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 12 months of a Education & Skills Funding Agency–funded and recognised Apprenticeship, or have completed a full Apprenticeship within the 12 month period leading up to and including 1st December 2017. See the Awards eligibility criteria for full details about all the categories, including the endorsements you will require as part of your entry. 

How do I enter?

To enter or nominate for an award, you must download and complete the relevant application form and return it via email, along with the appropriate endorsements, to awards@oxfordshireapprenticeships.co.uk by midnight on Friday 1st December 2017. 

What are the timescales?

Once the Awards have closed to entries, the category sponsors will assess the applications and carry out visits to entrants. A judging meeting will take place on Monday 5th February to agree the finalists in each category, who will be announced during Oxfordshire Apprenticeships Hour (#OAHour) on Twitter from 1pm on Thursday 8th February. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, which will take place in the evening of Thursday 1st March in The Orangery at Blenheim Palace. Make sure you keep the date free!
