Meet Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards logo designer Emma

Emma Davis, 20, studied Art & Design at the City of Oxford College, completing a Level 3 Extended Diploma. Whilst looking for jobs in design, she spotted a fantastic opportunity on Gumtree - a Production Assistant role with the In Oxford Group.

The In Oxford Group produce a number of local publications such as Living In Oxford, the Laurent-Perrier Oxfordshire Restaurant Guide, Who’s Who Thames Valley and The Best in Oxford & Oxfordshire. Their bimonthly business magazine, B4, has just launched an Apprenticeships platform to showcase success stories from Oxfordshire businesses and highlight the benefits that employing an Apprentice can bring to local employers.

Emma was the perfect fit for the job and joined the team in July 2015. Her role initially involved gathering content for the group’s various publications. CEO Richard Rosser quickly spotted that Emma had a real talent for design and she was soon working on the design of publications such as Living in Oxford magazine and the Oxfordshire Restaurant Awards programme.

When Emma heard about the first ever Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards earlier this year, she was really keen to volunteer to design a logo, which would give her the unique experience of introducing and developing an exciting new brand. We were delighted with her generous offer and also with the fantastic design she presented us with. We worked closely with Emma to develop her idea and produce a logo that depicts both the rural and city aspects of Oxfordshire within a star to represent the shining stars who will be recognised by the awards. We know you’ll agree, we have a unique and stylish Awards logo thanks to Emma! Emma also designed the fantastic brochure for the Awards evening.

We are delighted that Emma has once again offered to support the Awards with her design skills.

The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2018 are open for entries and nominations until midnight on Friday 1st December. See the Awards page for details.
