Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2021

The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2021 are now open for entries and nominations until midnight on 1st February 2021. A list of categories, with entry and nomination forms, is below. You can nominate someone for the Apprentice Awards, Shining Star Award and Apprenticeship Champion Award. Other categories are entry only. Download the Awards criteria.

School Award – sponsored by Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

This Award is for Oxfordshire secondary schools that make a significant contribution to promoting Apprenticeships to students as a viable and credible post-16 option, as part of a wide ranging and inclusive careers programme. Open to all secondary schools based in Oxfordshire.

School Engagement Employer of the Year Award - sponsored by OxLEP Skills

This Award is for organisations that have exceeded normal standards and expectations in engaging with local schools and colleges to inspire the next generation. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire, provide work experience placements for people that live in Oxfordshire and provided work experience placements for at least 12 months before the closing date (i.e. from at least 1st February 2020).

Higher Apprentice of the Year - sponsored by Blenheim

This Award is for Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 9 months of their current Level 4 or above Apprenticeship by the closing date of 1st February 2021 OR have completed a full Apprenticeship no more than 12 months ago (between the dates 31st January 2020 to 1st February 2021).

Advanced Apprentice of the Year – sponsored by Nielsen

This Award is for Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 9 months of their current Level 3 Apprenticeship by the closing date of 1st February 2021 OR have completed a full Apprenticeship no more than 12 months ago (between the dates 31st January 2020 to 1st February 2021).

Intermediate Apprentice of the Year - sponsored by Abbott Diabetes Care

This Award is for Apprentices living or working in Oxfordshire who have completed a minimum of 9 months of their current Level 2 Apprenticeship by the closing date of 1st February 2021 OR have completed a full Apprenticeship no more than 12 months ago (between the dates 31st January 2020 to 1st February 2021).

Special Recognition Award – sponsored by Popham Hairdressing

This Award is for an Apprentice who has achieved in overcoming significant challenges or barriers to learning or work. Apprentices must have completed a minimum of 9 months of their current Level 2 Apprenticeship by the closing date of 1st February 2021 OR have completed a full Apprenticeship no more than 12 months ago (between the dates 31st January 2020 to 1st February 2021).

Large Apprenticeship Employer Award (250+ employees) - sponsored by Clarkson Evans

This Award is for organisations with 250 or more employees. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire, employ Apprentices that work in Oxfordshire and have employed Apprentices for at least 12 months before the closing date (i.e. from at least 1st February 2020).

Medium Apprenticeship Employer Award (less than 250 employees) - sponsored by The Burnside Partnership

This Award is for organisations with less than 250 employees but more than 49. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire, employ Apprentices that work in Oxfordshire and have employed Apprentices for at least 12 months before the closing date (i.e. from at least 1st February 2020).

Small Apprenticeship Employer Award (less than 50 employees) - sponsored by University of Oxford Print Studio

This Award is for organisations with less than 50 employees. Must have management autonomy in Oxfordshire, employ Apprentices that work in Oxfordshire and have employed Apprentices for at least 12 months before the closing date (i.e. from at least 1st February 2020).

Shining Star Award - sponsored by Integration Technology

This Award is for someone who has made outstanding progress in their career since completing their first Apprenticeship and has the potential to achieve even more. They must have completed their first Apprenticeship at least 9 months and no more than 10 years before the closing date (i.e. completed between 31st January 2011 and 1st February 2021).

Apprenticeship Champion Award – sponsored by Oxford Brookes University

The Apprenticeship Champion Award is open to anyone living or working in Oxfordshire who has gone the extra mile to promote Apprenticeships and/or enable Apprenticeships to continue during the exceptional circumstances resulting from COVID-19.
